II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The purchase of one dual page book capture system, designed to image heritage bound material in high volume. The scanning system must output images to standards specified in this document. The system and software must be compatible with the British Library IT technical standards (see appendix). The scanner must capture bound books of up to A2 in size and with spines 20 - 25 cm in width. It should be able to output a minimum of 350 Tiff images in one full working day or 10 000 images a month. The offered package should include on-site installation, support, and hardware and software training within a month of supply.
