Abstract

The connecting Cambridgeshire project is aiming to extend the availability of Next Generation Access (NGA) broadband across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Connecting Cambridgeshire has previously invested public funds through one contract, to extend the availability of NGA infrastructure in areas where no commercial plans were in place as verified through State Aid Public Consultations to 97 % of the county.

Stage 4 is aiming to secure a telecom provider(s) to deploy NGA networks (supporting access line speeds of at least 30 mbps) to bring total coverage to over 99 % by the end of 2020 for the funding envelope that is available.
