Description of the contract
1.1 Introduction
This project is part of a redevelopment programme which has received funding through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, the role of which is to support investments in processing/marketing and/or development of agricultural products throughout Wales.
Welsh Government’s RDP funded Food Business Investment Scheme (FBIS) is designed to help primary producers of agricultural products and businesses that do first and/or second stage processing activities in Wales.
Puffin Produce Ltd’s growth has been built on proactive engagement with the major retailers and their ability to secure contracts with Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S. In order to maintain supply contracts with these leading retailers, Puffin Produce has been at the forefront of continuous development that includes expansion of its facilities and range to motivate increased sales and product marketability.
1.2 Objectives
Puffin Produce plan investment in further increasing scale, efficiency and infrastructure of their current potato operation. The next stage in development involves the construction of a new production area for expanded and advanced processing lines and front end office area.
Puffin Produce Ltd are inviting contractors to assist in this development.
1.3 Time Scale
The project is expected to commence 15th October 2018.
1.4 Location
The work will be carried out at Puffin Produce’s main processing site at Woodlands, Withybush Industrial Estate, Haverfordwest, SA62 4BS.
1.5 Project activities
This tender publictation is seeking sub-contractor work: GROUNDFLOOR CONCRETE SLAB – the supply and placement of all materials associated with the concrete slabs construction, including all necessary plant and equipment to carry out the works, i.e. concrete, mesh, shuttering/formwork, edge protection, access equipment, concrete pumps, power-floats & finishing tools/equipment etc. Sub-contractor to satisfy themselves that they have allowed for all necessary access and equipment in order to carry out the works including being aware of site conditions that may have an effect on completing the works to schedule as per programme attached.
Note:
• Sub-contractor welcome to include alternate design & costings in addition to pricing scheduled items
• Minor engineering should be allowed for by the sub-contractor
• Design coordination with the project Architect, Engineers
• Site visit is compulsory to appreciate the clients existing working environment
• Sub-contractor to allow for task lighting and power for the duration of their works
• Sub-contractor to allow for material storage within price (as required)
• Onsite WC and mess facilities are available ‘por gratis’

Costs:
The above work is to have an anticipated commencement on site start date of 15.10.18 or earlier. The Auto Store slab (Area 1) to be poured by the 26.10.18. Your lowest quotation is invited for the sub-contract work shown above inclusive of all Design, Labour, Plant and Materials, in accordance with the following documents: -

By submitting a quotation it is deemed that you have inspected the drawings and visited the site to obtain any relevant details. Extras will not be paid due to lack of knowledge of the site conditions or form of general construction details.
