Abstract

Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) wishes to invite tenders for the supply of goods and services in respect of:

— delivery,

— installation,

— collection,

— maintenance,

— repair and recycling of a range of health and social care equipment and minor adaptations to children, young people and adults to support the personalisation, prevention and well being Agenda.

The Northamptonshire Integrated Community Equipment Service(ICES) is commissioned through a Partnership between Northamptonshire County Council (acting as Lead Commissioner), Nene Clinical Commissioning Group and Corby Clinical Commissioning Group.

This contract is for 5 years, with an option to extend for 2 years, making 7 years in total.

The provider shall be expected to work with commissioners to develop a range of self-help and preventative approaches such as on-line self assessment, fast track assessment and retail opportunities. Early intervention and prevention requires commissioners to ensure a growing and accessible market for community equipment is created which empowers people to self-help and focus on maintaining independence in the community. It is expected that the provider will clearly understand the need for services to be flexible and to change over time as commissioning organisations need to respond to demographic and budgetary challenges.
