Abstract

Y Muni (the Muni) is an iconic cultural venue situated in the south Wales valley town of Pontypridd. Awen Cultural Trust (Awen), in partnership with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (RCTCBC), are working towards an ambitious multi-million refurbishment and development programme. Awen is seeking proposals from suitably experienced and qualified multi-disciplined teams to carry out a redevelopment feasibility study and options appraisal. The study will explore the social and architectural heritage of the building, along with the necessary design, development and repair work required to reimagine the building for the 21st century. Ultimately the outputs from this work will be used to feed in to future work streams, such as a National Heritage Lottery Fund grant application.
