Abstract

Swansea University is in the process of setting up a new Physics Laboratory to ensure delivery of an outstanding student experience as part of the Sêr-SAM program (Science and Engineering Research: Sustainable Advanced Materials), based on research-led and practice-driven teaching of the highest quality. The creation of a new Physics Laboratory will involve a significant amount of next generation optoelectronics and bioelectronics with the overall vision of creating a truly world-class research capability for Wales within this area. The new laboratory will therefore require a range of fabrication, electrical, optical, laser and photonics instrumentation with funding provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) via the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO).
