Abstract

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (SWFRS) has a compliment of sixteen fully qualified DIM advisors who are supported by an additional fourteen Hazardous Materials & Environmental Protection Officers (HMEPO’s), totalling 30 officers. Due to the technical skills required by this group, SWFRS now seeks to identify an external training provider to assist in identifying and supporting the SWFRS officers in maintaining competency as stated in the HDIM Competency standards framework, published by CFOA National Resilience

Total quantity or scope of tender

The successful trainer would be required to deliver 10 training days per year to the full group of HDIM officers (max 20), The 10 training days will need to be delivered on a monthly basis (1 per month, with exceptions being August & December due to leave & Christmas.)

The training provider will also need to provide an assortment of chemicals/props to ensure meaningful exercising and training and be able to provide consistent and full support to all officers throughout the day(s).

Therefore, expressions of interest are sought to provide SWFRS HDIM training for up to the next 5 years (2020-2025) on an annual renewal basis (dependent on Welsh Government funding).
