Abstract

The authority is awarding a provider to deliver targeted, independence promoting, transitional support for 23 vulnerable young people and adults at a site that was previously used as a sheltered housing scheme in Havering.

The provider will support individuals (care leavers and adults with low to moderate mental health and/or learning disabilities) to fully develop their independence skills and manage their properties and tenancies effectively to enable them to move out into the wider community.

The provider will work in partnership with the on-site supported housing officer who will provide intensive housing management support to the cohort above and other residents living on-site.

The identified provider will provide support 7 days a week but not necessarily 24 hours a day, but sleep in night cover is required. Dedicated support staff accommodation and office space is available at the site.

The properties are a mix of bedsits and one bedroom flats each with their own front door and individuals will be supported to manage their own home for a 12 to 18-month period before moving on to independent accommodation.
