Tender for the Principal Contractor for the Renovation of The Old Shop, Treowen, Newtown, Powys

Description of the goods or services required

The Council is seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced contractors to tender for the appointment of a principal contractor for the renovation of a property in Treowen, Newtown, Powys.

The property is an ex-commercial property, that the Council intends to renovate and convert into a four/five bedroom property.

Works must be completed by Friday 30th September 2022 (30/09/2022).

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Tenderers must meet the following minimum requirements:

1. Passing of a financial assessment of the tenderers latest set of accounts, to be assessed as described within the tender documentation.

2. Constructionline Level 2 Silver registered, with work categories relevant to the scope of the contract.

3. CHAS registered (or any full equivalent under SSIP).

4. One operative on site will be required to have Category B Working with Non-Licensable Asbestos training. All other operatives will be required to have Category A Asbestos Awareness training.

5. Insurance requirements, note that you must have or agree to put in place by contract start, insurances to the following levels:

- Public & Product Liability Insurance - £5,000,000

- Employer’s Liability Insurance - £5,000,000

7. Acceptance of the JCT Minor Works, Schedule of Amendments (as found under Appendix A in the Attachments Area of the Portal).
