Abstract

GWCT Part-Time Project support contractor – Self-employed role within SMS Project. £130 per day - Total of 200 days over the lifetime of the project (3 years to end April 2023). Person will need to be self employed for duration of contract. Project Location- Elwy Valley Denbighshire, North East Wales and surrounding area. Working as part of the Cymru / Wales team, the individual will be working on the ‘Cynnal Coetir’ Elwy valley ‘Sustainable Management Scheme’ , Welsh Government funded project. The role will be funded for 200 days over the lifetime of the project set to end in April 2023. The project revolves around 4 core themes including: • Landscape Woodland Management • Deer Movement and Impact Research • Invasive Species • Woodland Education The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust is the leading UK charity conducting scientific research to promote a thriving British countryside rich in game and wildlife. The role will be home based with the project area of the Elwy valley in Denbighshire North East Wales. Application will consist of CV and covering letter, with interviews being held via ‘Microsoft Teams’ thereafter. 3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

• Related environmental degree

• Working knowledge of GIS

• You will have experience in the forestry, agricultural or

rural service delivery

• Experience of dealing with landowners and farmers.

• Experience of working alongside or managing volunteers.

• You should have an understanding of deer management including impact and population monitoring.
