Tender for the Repair and Reassessment of the Acrow Panel Bridge at Glangrwyney, Powys

Description of the goods or services required

Powys County Council is looking to appoint a Principal Contractor to undertake repair and reassessment of the Acrow panel bridge at Glangrwyney, Powys. Works shall include:

- Design, fabrication and installation of replacement supports above the cast iron piers.

- Completion of all remedial works to Acrow Panel Superstructure.

- Removal of redundant cantilvered pedestrian walkway.

- Re-assessment of the live load capacity of the Acrow Panel structure.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Tenderers must meet the following minimum requirements:

1. Constructionline Level 2 Silver registered, with work categories relevant to the subject matter of the contract.

2. CHAS registered (or any full equivalent under SSIP).

3. Can provide demonstrable experience of delivering contract(s) of a similar nature.

4. Pass a financial assessment of the tenderers latest set of accounts, to be assessed as described in the tender documentation.

5. Insurance requirements, note that you must have or agree to put in place by contract start, insurances to the following levels:

- Public & Product Liability Insurance - £10,000,000;

- Employer’s Liability Insurance - £10,000,000; and

- Professional Indemnity Insurance - £10,000,000 per claim.

6. Acceptance of the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract Option A – Contract Data Part 1 & 2 (as found under Appendix A in the tender documentation).
