Abstract

Social Care Wales have a legal duty to keep a Register of specified groups of social care workers in Wales and a separate list of workers whose names have been removed from the Register, following concerns about their fitness to practise. This is to help safeguard the public and improve standards for people receiving and providing care. With the Register increasing and the potential for the volume of hearings to increase, we wish to review the approach taken by other regulators and consider the viability of continuing with our current approach to legal services and consider the feasibility of having in-house legal team.
