Minimum standards and qualification required
The successful bidder will have a proven track record of valuing and/or instilling a relational and trauma informed approach and support staff within their organisation aligned with this approach.
The winning bidder will be expected to deliver the following:
• Work in collaboration with staff at Sport Wales. These staff will include, but not be limited to those with expertise in mental health and wellbeing and Thriving Environments within sport, as well as those working for an appointed ‘Mental Health’ partner. There will also be an expectation to collaborate with other stakeholders.
• Design bespoke support packages that adopt a non-medicalised, relational approach to understanding and supporting mental health and wellbeing. These packages should acknowledge the impact of ACEs/trauma.
• Deliver Workshops. A minimum of six will be expected; 2 per cohort of partners, every 3-4 months. A maximum of 16 partners within the first year of delivery.
• Development of workshops, resources, support packages (to include one day condensed training sessions).
• Strategic Group Meetings- Quarterly.
• Operational Group Meetings- every 4-6 weeks – dependant on need.
• Develop bespoke packages of support for National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) - average of 5 days of support per partner, subject to the user need.
• Support Sport Wales staff with training on the relational approach.
• Attend relevant stakeholder meetings/training events- i.e., CEO Forums, coaching conferences (up to twenty per year).
• Work in collaboration with the partner appointed to monitor and evaluate the impact of this support on the Welsh Sport sector.
As part of the application to tender we would like to see:
• A method/delivery plan.
• An outline of your philosophy and/or theoretical underpinnings to understanding and therefore responding to mental health and wellbeing.
• Details of your organisation’s experiences in developing and delivering mental health projects and provide examples of how this philosophy and /or theoretical underpinning (as outlined above) influences the work you have undertaken.
• Details of staff experience/ background/expertise in a relational approach to understanding mental health and wellbeing.
