Title

Provide various traditional skills courses to protect features in the Slate Landscape

Description of the goods or services required

In order to protect the unique character of Gwynedd's slate communities and surrounding landscpaes, this commission funds a company or organisation to provide accredited courses, and non-accredited informal taster courses in the traditional skills areas below:

• Masonry

• Lime plastering/rendering

• Crawiau / pileri slate fencing

• Slate pitching

• Stone/slate walling

• Gates and posts

• Slate carving / slate art

• Train-the-trainer courses

NB: provision can be offered in all of the above areas or focus on at least 3 areas in greater depth. The train-the-trainer courses will need to be provided in addition to the minimum of 3 areas as the development of future trainers is an important part of the commission's legacy.
