Additional information
City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (‘the Council’) expects to award a contract for a possible 12-15 year duration for waste treatment and disposal services for residual municipal waste (local Authority collected waste), to assist the Council's long term aim of minimising waste and obtaining value from its residual waste.
The total amount of residual waste expected to be available is in the order of 130 000 tonnes per annum, and its composition is predominantly household in nature.
The Council expects an effective contract and operational start date during 2017.
The Council conducted a Soft Market Test some 2 years ago, and is now seeking to re-engage with the waste market to develop and procure a suitable waste treatment solution, mainly or wholly utilising existing (or near to market) merchant capacity.
Should potential bidders wish to seek further information or clarification, please contact the Project Office (email: wasteproject@bradford.gov.uk).
