Orkney Islands Council invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Contractors for the provision of shuttle bus services to coincide with the dates when cruise liners visit Orkney during the cruise seasons 2016 to 2018 (beginning of April until the end of September) commencing April 2016 for a 3 year period with an option to extend (for a further 12 month period). The Contract will commence on 1.4.2016.

Additional Information
It is essential that all operators have the appropriate operator's licence for the scale of the bus operations required and also that all vehicles and drivers utilised on the Contract have the appropriate licences and other certification as required by United Kingdom law (including for the avoidance of doubt the appropriate insurances). Satisfactory evidence of all licences and other documentation will require to be exhibited to the Council prior to the commencement of the Contract.
The Council reserves the right to cancel the procurement at any stage and not award a Contract. The expenditure, work or effort undertaken by bidders prior to the award of any Contract is accordingly a matter solely for the commercial judgement of bidders.
Late tenders will not be considered by the Council.
