This work is part of a major review of services which is being led by the 6 largest health and social care organisations in West Hertfordshire. This review is called ‘Your Care, Your Future’. The review has examined existing health and social care services to determine what needs to be done to improve local services. The Trust is currently developing its Estates strategy to align with ‘Your Care Your Future’. As a consequence, the Trust intends to extend its existing contracts for 3 temporary Surge Units on its estate which currently provide vital ward space and services.

The Trust is currently developing its Estates strategy to align with ‘Your Care Your Future’. As a consequence, the Trust intends to extend its existing contracts for three temporary Surge Units on its estate which currently provide vital ward space and services. Further or alternatively, to the extent that the extension of the contractor's contract constitutes a new contract, such new contract is intended to operate as a continuation or extension of the provision of existing installations in circumstances where a change of contractor would oblige the Trust to acquire all-new installations which would result in disproportionate technical difficulties in installation, operation and/or maintenance.
The 3 contracts will be consolidated into a single contract with the existing provider for the continued provision of all 3 Surge Units and, at the same time, extended until 31.12.2021.
