Abstract

To develop a common national preventative costs savings calculator, initially through TAF model within the Families First Programme, which can be used flexibly depending on different Local Authority requirements. This work responds to requirements contained in the revised Families First Programme Guidance, which places an expectation on Local Authorities to consider and evidence the long term savings which can be achieved through early intervention family support. The majority of these savings will be realised in the statutory sector where families are supported to avoid costly remedial and statutory interventions.
