Tate Gallery, London, requires exhibition standard frames and mounts of a certain specification to be delivered to Tate Gallery over a 7 month period beginning February 2019. It is anticipated that the number of frames required will be in the region of 3 000, ordered in batches of between 200 and 250 at a time. The total number may vary up or down dependant on the project in question.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Tate Gallery, London, are looking for an experienced framer to manufacture frames and mounts to be delivered to Tate Britain, Millbank, London, SW1P 4RG. At the point of writing, it is likely that Tate will require between 2 500 and 3 500 frames (including mounts) in line with the specification detailed in the invitation to tender and to be delivered in batches to Tate over a 7-month period. The frame manufacturer would need to be able to work to a tight deadline with staggered delivery between February 2019 to mid-July 2019, with the first batch of c. 250 frames being delivered to Tate for the week commencing 4.2.2019.

IV.1) Description
IV.1.1) Type of procedure

Justification:
The reason why this requirement is now urgent (and thus accelerated) is because of the scope and scale of the project. We have already exceeded the anticipated uptake relating to the volume required and therefore need to increase our production time starting much earlier than expected. Lead times suggest that the first batch of c.250 frames needs to be manufactured and delivered to Tate Gallery on Monday 4th February in order for Tate to begin the lengthy task of framing the images prior to the opening at Tate Britain.
