Network Rail is seeking to undertake a competitive process, where by it will engage the market to contract with a supplier who has a switch and crossing laser profile measuring product, that can be developed to meet its needs “Development Phase”. This tender process’s aim is to then enable a Framework Agreement to be put in place, offering the option for each Network Rail Route the purchase of the developed product and associated support services.

Network Rail require a measurement product to enable it to automate the measurement and profiling of its switch's and crossing estate. Network Rail (NR) infrastructure contains a wide range of S&C types and designs, ranging from old bull head S&C units through to the modern NR60 Mk 2 unit.
