Abstract

The service aims:

— to provide supported lodgings within North East Lincolnshire which are suitable and safe for children and young people and which enable young people to make positive life choices,

— to provide a bridge between leaving care settings and independent living. Supporting children and young people to develop the skills needed to maintain their own tenancies,

— to provide eight individual supported lodgings placements to Children Looked After (CLA).

Supported lodgings provides a bridge between care and independence allowing young people to make their own decisions while maintaining supportive adults around them. The lodgings providers are required to complete tasks with the young people to begin to prepare them for taking on their own tenancy when they feel confident to do so.

Supported lodgings provides a bridge between care and independence allowing young people to make their own decisions while maintaining supportive adults around them. The service provider must be able to provide 8 individual supported lodgings placements to Children Looked After (CLA) aged 16 to 21 who are leaving or have left care, are mothers with a baby, young offenders and a limited number of placements for young people of this age group who are a Child In Need (CIN).
