Explanation
Following a full tender process, 1Spatial were awarded a contract for mapping services. The contract has been varied to include additional elements. Reasons have been outlined below.
Efficiency document: as part of the initial engagement with 1Spatial, NGN invested in Geocortex Software for our in house GIS platform. Geocortex is highly configurable and is based on workflow technology. To date, when NGN have identified enhancements (new layers/functionality) we've engaged with 1Spatial to complete this activity. The efficiency document is a full breakdown of training, supplied by 1Spatial, which, once complete would mean NGN are fully self sufficient in terms of both enhancing the Geocortex and GMAF software and applying software updates. This will reduce the future reliance on 1Spatial in supporting these products.
MyDart Deployment: NGN and 1Spatial have collaborated on an innovation project to develop a standard Android Application capable of consuming geospatial data with inbuilt spatial and data validation. This application is built on 1Spatial software (LMAP) and utilises the 1Spatial rules engine (1Intergrate) to perform the validation required. The innovation proof of concept was successful and a phase 2 innovation project is planned to bring the application up to a production ready state. This deployment project covers the effort required to transition the app in to the NGN infrastructure in order for NGN to see the return on investment made through the innovation projects.
MyDart Support and maintenance: myDart has been built using 1Spatial's own technology and as such they are the sole supplier who could support this application.
GXM – This project will look to upgrade the current myMaps Mobile (GMAF) application to the latest Geocortex Mobile Platform (GXM). GMAF is out of support from December 2020, so inline with NGN standards we are looking to upgrade to the latest software version. As 1Spatial are the sole suppliers of Geocortex Software we have engaged with 1Spatial to assist in this upgrade
SLG Deployment/support and maintenance: NGN and 1Spatial have collaborated on an innovation project to develop software to produce automated traffic management plans. This application is built on Geocortex software and utilises 1Spatial 1Intergrate rules engine to generate plans. The innovation project has been a success and this element will cover the effort required to transition the app in to the NGN infrastructure in order for NGN to see the return on investment made through the innovation project. As 1Spatial are the sole supplierof Geocortex and the solution uses 1Spatials own 1Intergrate rules engine, they are the sole supplier capable of supporting the application.
Electric layers 2/highways/flood mapping/3D: these projects all look to add additional layers to both myMaps (Geocortex) and myMaps Mobile (GMAF) solutions delivered by 1Spatial. These all look to add further enrichment of data included in these incumbent solutions.
