Blaenau Gwent & Caerphilly County Borough Councils provide a joint Workforce Development service for the whole Social Care Sector within Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly geographical boundaries. Learning and development opportunities are provided to all staff working within the Social Care Sector in Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly.

The Blaenau Gwent Caerphilly Workforce Development Team is seeking to enter into a contract for the training provision of Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.

The Blaenau Gwent Caerphilly Workforce Development Team is seeking to enter into a contract for the provision of Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.

Project Specification

The training opportunity you are invited to tender for includes following specification:

Learning outcomes:

•Be suicide alert – identify people who have thoughts of suicide

•Understand the reasons behind thoughts of suicide and the reasons for living

•Assess risk and safety – develop a plan to increase the safety of the person at risk of suicide

•Recognise invitations for help

•Recognise potential barriers of seeking help

•Offer support – recognise other important aspects of suicide prevention including life-promotion and self-care

•Effectively apply a suicide intervention model

•Link people with community resources

2.0 DELIVERABLES

A minimum of two (2) complete training sessions and a maximum of six (6) to be delivered between December 2020 and March 31st 2022.

The course must be delivered remotely on a virtual platform via Microsoft TEAMs. Whilst a complete session would usually be two (2) full days in duration we request this to be delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams and split into 4 x half day sessions.
