Description of the goods or services required

The purpose of the tender is to obtain a fixed rate price and illustrated layouts for the supply and installation of new playground equipment and where applicable safety surfacing and other features.

Please utilise the Key Considerations for New Play Areas outlined within this document, to aid the design choices.

To aid the Contractor with planning, enabling and installation, the Contract Period is January 2022 to March 2022 for this contract.

The maximum budget of £45,000 (exclusive of VAT) is available and this is to include all design work, removals and disposals, safety surfacing, new equipment and installation.

Before tendering bidders are advised to visit the site to ascertain all relevant conditions and means of access and to thoroughly acquaint themselves with the extent and nature of the project.

An itemised quotation is required to identify all cost together with an illustrated layout for design proposed which will be assessed on a quality/play value basis. The detail of the design choices are to be reflected within the responses to the method statement questions.

Equipment provided for a variety of users and abilities from 3 to 12 years of age.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The maximum budget of £45,000 (exclusive of VAT) is available and this is to include all design work, removals and disposals, safety surfacing, new equipment and installation.

Product specification

For the purpose of submitting the proposal a detailed coloured layout and dimensions of each proposed item is required.

Playground

All existing equipment and wet pour surfacing will be removed from site by the client prior to scheduled start date.

Supply and install new equipment.

• Infant Multiplay to suit ages between 3 to 7 with high low play panels.

• Junior Multiplay unit suitable for age up to 12

• Double bay swing with 2 flat seat swings, 1 cradle and 1 you and me swing seat.

• Flush carousel

• 4 seat springed see saw

• Trampoline

The whole area within the existing fence line is to be wet pour the depth of which to be determined by the manufactures installation guidelines. Some colour within the design is desirable if the budget allows otherwise a coloured fleck will be acceptable.

Non play items

• 1 Picnic bench suitable for use by wheel chair users to be placed on grass area outside the site.

• 1 Covered steel bin.

All equipment to be constructed predominately of steel and must comply with EN 1176.

All warranties for equipment to be supplied as part of the submission

• Double width slide – wide enough for 2 e.g. Parent/carer and child. - Variety of access to accommodate different needs and abilities.

• Swings to include at least 1 basket type swing as well as a choice of others.

• Low level and high-level sensory experiences – be imaginative e.g. tactile, audio, visual etc.

• Rocking/spinning/bouncing experiences to suit varied sizes and abilities

• Climbing experiences to include low and multi-level experiences not just height driven.

• Gates wide enough and manageable for wheelchairs and buggies.

• Seating for all to be near play equipment, some with table.

• Adequate space around and easy access to the equipment.

1. Register your company on the eTenderWales portal (this is only required once):

— Click on the ITT code. You can now access any attachments by clicking the “Settings and Buyer Attachments” in the “Actions” box.

3. Responding to the invitation to tender:

— You can now choose to “Reply” or “Reject” (please give a reason if rejecting).

— You can now use the “Messages” function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification.

— Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT.

— There may be a mixture of online and offline actions for you to perform (there is detailed online help available).
