Abstract

The aim of this service is to see, diagnose and as appropriate, treat urology patients who do not need to attend the local acute trust, in a timely manner. The provider has a good track record of providing these services within this locality and the continuation of this service will ensure a continuation of a high quality of service delivery, patient experience and referring-GP satisfaction. GP Care UK Limited have provided these services over the past 3 years and the commissioner believes that that this provider is best placed to continue to build upon work already achieved with the locality. Key to the success of the service is that the consultant input includes at least one consultant who is also employed by the local acute trust, and to whom cases are onward referred or listed for surgery as appropriate. This common link is an essential component of the service.
