Southampton City Council is seeking to appoint a provider who can deliver Carers' Support Services working in partnership with the Council to deliver the Southampton Carers Strategy. The provider will work alongside the Council to engage and work with partners from across the local Integrated Care System to improve the identification and health & wellbeing of unpaid carers in the City. In parallel with this responsibility the Council requires the same provider to develop a carer led organisation to provide carers services in the city.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
It is planned that the service will be delivered through hubs, these will initially be developed in 3 libraries across the city. The libraries are open 6 days per week, with flexible opening times including evening access. Library staff will work in partnership with carer services to provide greet and meet low level support and information needs of carers. The Carers service will need to provide ongoing training and support to the library staff to build their skills and capacity in supporting carers with low level needs. Individual confidential one to one space is available within each library to offer a suitable place to communicate with carers. The libraries offer a flexible space for small carers groups to meet or provide information and guidance sessions on a group basis.
