II.2.4) Description of the procurement

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council has established a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the provision of a high quality and cost effective Education and Social Care Transport Service. The requirements covers bus, taxi, minibus and wheelchair accessible vehicles. The DPS is structured into the following 5 lots:

Lot 1: 4-8 seat vehicles

Lot 2: 9-16 seat vehicles

Lot 3: 17-49 seat vehicles

Lot 4: 50+ seat vehicles

Lot 5: Wheelchair accessible vehicles

The DPS commenced on 1st September 2016 and will run for an initial period of 5 years with an option to be extended for a further period of up to 24 months (reviewable on an annual basis and subject to performance).

NOTE 1: The authority is using eTenderWales to carry out further competitions under this DPS.

NOTE 2: Round 2 PQQ is active and will remain live and accessible to potential tenderers for the duration of the DPS.
