Abstract

Kent and Medways Towns Fire Authority also known as Kent Fire and Rescue Service is the National Fire Chiefs Council Lead Authority for PPE and Clothing within the sector.

In 2017 following a full tender process the Authority awarded the hugely successful Collaborative PPE Framework which has seen 31 Fire and Rescue Services across the sector call off from the framework on either a Purchase Only or Fully Managed Service basis, it represents over 30,000 wearers, Following the end of the framework duration the Authority has been undertaking a review of the Fire Fighting PPE within the Sector. Over the course of the last few years we understand that there may be new developments and innovations that have occurred and also impacts on supply chains.

The Authority is keen to learn lessons not only from the previous framework but also hear about the experiences and challenges that Suppliers are having to face.

The Authority would like to invite potential suppliers to an Early Supplier Engagement session which will be held virtually by Teams on Thursday 7th December between 10 am and 12 noon.

This will be followed up by a questionnaire that will be issued to all interested parties, this will aid the Commercial and Technical Teams with their decision making processes in terms of lotting structure and ensure that we are focusing on the right areas for the future supplier engagement events that will be planned over the early part of 2024.

If you wish to attend the Early Supplier Engagement event on 7th December 2023, please email nationalppe@kent.fire-uk.org , please note to ensure that everyone is able to join we are limiting the event to 1 person per organisaton, please send the name along with the email address for your organisation to the email address above.
