The scope will initially include systems and equipments which are currently in service, with the option to include additional systems as they enter service.The requirement will include the supply of permanent and consumable spares, repair and maintenance activities, technical and post design services (including obsolescence management), and supply chain management.The Authority does not currently envisage that the requirement will be divided into Lots, however the Authority reserves the option to change this approach at any step/stage of the tendering procedureIt is anticipated that the Tender Notice will be issued circa 15 December 2025. Further information regarding the anticipated procurement schedule will be published in the Tender Notice when issued, however it is envisaged that any resultant contract will commence circa 01 September 2026 with an initial term of 3 years with three option periods of 2 years each. The Authority also reserves the option to change this approach and add or remove steps/stages at any step/stage of the tendering procedure.You must not take this announcement as confirmation that MOD shall award a contract for this requirement. DE&S play a critical role in keeping the United Kingdom safe and prosperous, and making sure the front-line have the right kit at the right time. From fighter jets to food deliveries, from patrol boats to protective clothing, DE&S deliver effective and innovative kit to front-line forces. Within the new DE&S structure, the Power Propulsion and Auxiliary (PPA) team has been set up as a technology area, working across different areas of defence to deliver and sustain systems that generate operational energy, to provide propulsion (e.g. prime movers/engines and transmissions fitted to platforms), and cross-cutting auxiliary systems, including life support, fire-fighting, medical, and catering equipment. Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) was conducted during May 2025. The Authority has completed it’s consideration of the outcomes of this engagement and is now preparing to issue a UK4 – Tender Notice for the purposes of conducting a Competitive Flexible Tender Procedure as regulated by the Procurement Act 2023.
