Much of the existing equipment is now unsafe, no longer compliant with modern safety standards, and beyond economical repair.

As a result, the playground requires a full and comprehensive redevelopment to ensure it can once again provide a safe, accessible, and high-quality play environment for children and families. Investment in a complete redesign and replacement of equipment, surfacing, and infrastructure is essential to restore the space as a valuable community asset.

2. Certified Installation

Suppliers should provide:

Installation by RPII-certified (Register of Play Inspectors International) installers

A post-installation inspection option by an independent RPII Operational Inspector

Full installation documentation, including groundworks and foundation details

3. Materials & Durability Requirements

Equipment should meet minimum expectations such as:

Weather-resistant materials (e.g., galvanised steel, stainless fixings, treated timber, HDPE panels)
