Abstract

The existing toilet block, referred to as the Rhyd-y-car Toilet Block, was constructed in 2005/2006 and is of a prefabricated construction. Albeit with some maintenance works over the years, it has been identified as requiring a full refurbishment to ensure facilities remain modern, welcoming and functional for site visitors and users whilst incorporating aspects of the local environment, heritage and traditional aspect of Welsh life within the works. The Works shall include, but not be limited to, the following: • Full internal refurbishment of the male, female and accessible toilet areas including removal and replacement of all sanitaryware, cubicles, vanity units and associated fittings; • Renewal of floor, wall and ceiling finishes throughout using durable, low maintenance materials; • Review and upgrade of mechanical and electrical services; • Improvements to the main entrance with regards to drainage and door integrity; • Provision for new interpretive features within the building, including bilingual signage, vinyl artwork and a Welsh-language soundscape.
