Abstract

The Welsh Government is developing a new Culture and Sport Strategy for Wales. Its ambition is for culture and sport to be recognised as a powerful force for individual health and wellbeing, community connection, economic opportunity, international profile and national confidence. For the first time in Wales the culture and sport strategy will include the creative industries and sport. The strategy will be based on a root and branch reassessment of the challenges and opportunities facing the sectors, undertaken in collaboration and consultation with artists, sports organisations, cultural and heritage organisations and other relevant stakeholders. The successful contractor will be required to undertake a rapid review of evidence relating to culture, sport, physical activity and creative industries in Wales. The review should synthesise existing research, evaluation evidence, administrative data and relevant national and international evidence where appropriate. It should identify key findings, trends, opportunities, challenges, evidence gaps and areas of uncertainty, and provide practical conclusions that can directly inform development of the Culture and Sport Strategy, associated outcomes framework and future monitoring and evaluation arrangements.

Opportunity run under the Quick Quotes process.
