Abstract

Provide and install dairy processing equipment to process up to 560,000 litres per day of whole milk into cheese, whey, sweet cream, sweet butter and butter milk, together with associated CIP systems. Scope of supply to comprise process equipment, process engineering, process installation, commissioning, operator training, guaranteed performance and consumable spare parts. All process equipment to be new and to employ the latest technologies and best practice. The automation platform is to be Schneider Electric. The cheese types to be produced are cheddars,'territorial' cheeses together with reduced fat and other varieties. Key performance criteria: Fat recovery in cheese to be no less than 96%. All cheese to be packed on standard format conforming to fixed weight legislation. The water consumed by the process and CIP is not to exceed 0.5 litres per litre of milk processed.

Additional Information

Tenders are expected only from economic operators that can deliver the entire package proposed in this Contract and the Buyer will be seeking certain performance guarantees from the supplier reference operational performance post implementation. Individual applications from operators who can only provide part of the scope will not be considered further. Due to the economic climate, the Buyer reserves the right to carry out additional financial checks on all companies tendering for this Contract at any time during the procurement process, to ensure that they continue to meet the Buyer's requirements and remain financially viable to perform the Contract. Any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender. The Buyer reserves the right at any time to cease the tendering process and not award a contract or to award only part of the opportunity described in this notice. If the Buyer takes up this right the they will not be responsible for, or pay the expenses or losses, which may be incurred by any tenderer as a result. The buyer undertakes to hold confidential any information provided in the proposals submitted, subject to the Buyer's obligations under any law or to comply with grant funding rules. If the applicant considers that any of the information submitted in the proposal should not be disclosed because of its sensitivity then this should be stated with the reason for considering it sensitive. The Buyer will then endeavour to consult with the applicant about such sensitive information when considering any external disclosure of that information.
