The successful Supplier will be required to provide catering services for Sidmouth College.
Sidmouth College is a thriving and successful non-selective comprehensive school providing a high standard of education for all children within a caring learning environment. Sidmouth College sits in an attractive setting within the heart of the Sid Valley and serves students from the immediate town and the area beyond.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The contract will commence on 1.4.2018 for a 3 year term, with the potential for it to be extended by a further 2 periods of 1 year.
The value of the contract is approximately 220 000 GBP per annum.
Please note that a few employees are in the Local Government Pension Scheme, therefore the successful Supplier will be required to obtain, sign and bear the associated cost of Admitted Body Status.
Catering Tender Objectives:
— The provision of good quality, varied, compliant and nourishing meals at an affordable cost to all students and staff, including vegetarian and special diets.
— The provision of catering for events outside of the normal school day such as meetings, open evenings and other hospitality.
— Clear and effective strategic and operational management and development of the catering staff.
— Regular communication with the College Business Manager and the provision of monthly management accounts showing all net costs including discounts, sales, profits and labour costs.
— Marketing and innovation strategies that will improve the take-up and profitability of the service.
— Ensure that staff engage with the College's Safeguarding policy and are paid to attend periodic safeguarding training with other college staff (approximately an hour 2 to 3 times per year).
— At least nil cost per annum to the College, but ideally a profit.

The contracting authority will consider variant bids, evaluating them (so far as the variant or the evaluation of the variant is in the opinion of the contracting authority practicable) on the same basis as a conforming bid, but shall not be obliged to accept any such bid in preference to a conforming bid even if the variant bid scores more highly. No variant will be considered unless the bidder simultaneously submits a conforming bid.
