Abstract

The National Assistive Technologies Test Bed is a Sunderland City Council project delivered by Digital Catapult aimed at supporting people to live independently for longer, through the use of new and innovative technology. The project seeks to use innovative technology to improve adult social care and health outcomes.

The Assistive Technologies Test Bed is part of a national initiative to develop and promote the use of technology and digital solutions in social care. The Council is one of twelve local councils participating in the Social Care Digital Innovation Programme for 2018/2019.

The Council wishes to procure software development services to build and deliver a system known as the ‘Core’. The ‘Core’ will be used as an integral part of the National Assistive Technologies Test Bed to collect and collate information being sent from a range of connected devices which are currently being procured.

As part of the Assistive Technologies Test Bed, the effectiveness of connected devices within people’s homes will be tested and measured. The data generated will be key to the success of the project, therefore a platform to present all the data collected by the devices is required.

Full details of the Council's requirements can be found within the tender documentation published on the NEPO portal.
