Explanation
The Department of Finance placed a transparency notice to alert economic operators of its plan to modify a contract in accordance with Regulation 72 (1) (b) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This modi[input]cation extends the current LandWeb contract (Land Registry system) with British Telecommunications (BT) for a period of 2 years from 8.7.2019. The contract notice (97/S 227 146083/ EN) appeared in the Supplement to the Official Journal S 227 on 21.11.1997. The contracting authority is relying on Regulation 72(1)(b) to modify this contract due to technical reasons given that BT manages and maintains the Land Registry (LandWeb) ICT network infrastructure, personal computers, scanners and network security which would require signi[input]cant internal work to transfer or replicate all technical components. The costs for this additional 2 year period do not exceed 50 % of the value of the original contract award value of 46 000 000 GBP. The value of this modification for the additional 2 year period is 9 878 000 GBP.
