2.2 Description of the goods or services required

Amey Rail are acting as managing agent for the OpCo part of the Operator and Development Partner (ODP)who have been appointed by Transport For Wales to undertake the Wales and Borders franchise.

Detailed design and build of a rail depot that facilitates the stabling and maintenance of a new rail fleet including provision of:

Depot Building: drainage, foundations, building structure and fit out including track and specialist equipment such as cranes, bogie wash, workshops etc.

External Civils: car park, minor civils and finishing works.

Track: stabling and connecting lines, shore supplies, OLE, signalling system.

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

TfW and the ODP have a vision of leaving a lasting legacy in Wales by adhering to the visions of The Well-being of Future Generations Act (2015).

The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
