Abstract

Wrexham County Borough Council in conjunction with the Welsh Government are seeking to employ a project Design Team to redevelop Wrexham Museum to incorporate a Football Museum for Wales. We are seeking a lead Architect, Museum Designer and Quantity Surveyor to work with the project partners to initially develop detailed proposals up to and including RIBA stage 3. The Design Team will also work with project partners to develop a funding application including any required supporting documentation for a National Lottery Heritage Fund (NHLF) Delivery Phase application. Anticipated timescales would see a NHLF application for the development Phase in the autumn of 2020 with RIBA stage 3 reached in the Summer/Autumn of 2021. The anticipated project capital budget is in the region of £4.4m. Prospective applicants should have significant experience of working in a museum context, whilst, particularly in the case of the Architect and Museum Designer, experience of working with ‘nationally styled’ museums; sporting heritage museums and listed buildings. Our intention would be to shortlist prospective companies through a tender exercise which is expected to be published in early November 2020. As part of the tender response prospective applicants must indicate which role(s) they are applying/bidding for. Suppliers can submit responses for a single role or multiple roles if they have the necessary qualifications and experience.
