  A contract has been awarded for the programme: continuing professional development (CPD) for advanced practitioners in the further education and training sector. The roles of advanced practitioners (APs) in this context are diverse but ‘are commonly described as a peer-to-peer support structure where (mostly) active practising teachers or tutors provide advice and guidance focused on improving teaching, learning and assessment’ (Tyler et al, 2017, p. 2). This programme offers a range of CPD activities for aspiring advanced practitioners, those in advanced practitioner roles (or advanced practitioner-type roles) and experienced advanced practitioners (for example, alumni of the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) advanced practitioner programme or Advanced Teacher Status — ATS).

    This award of this programme has enabled the professional development of advanced practitioners who support the delivery and embedding of these subjects across all settings in the FE and training sector. The programme consists of a range of CPD activities including: online/face-to-face training; communities of practice; practitioner-led events and networks; and a conference.
    This programme offers high-quality, innovative CPD for aspiring, current and experienced advanced practitioners and builds on from the Education and Training Foundation’s existing advanced practitioner offer.
