Lightning Protection Servicing & Remedial Works

Description of the goods or services required

The University of South Wales is seeking a competent contractor to undertake its Lightning Protection Servicing and associated remedial works at its various campus locations.

This contract comprises two lots:

Lot 1

The planned testing and inspection of the lightning conductors as described and scheduled in the specification.

Lot 2

Remedial works and minor works modifications of the lightning conductors as described and scheduled in the specification.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The contract shall initially be for three year period. There will be half-yearly reviews of resources, service delivery and quality. On successful completion of this period, the University may, at its discretion, re-negotiate the contract for a further one year period.

The scope of works includes, but is not limited to:

1.1 Testing and inspection and remedial works and maintenance to all equipment associated with the lightning protection as listed in this specification.

1.2 Technical support and management of all specialist contracts and sub-contracts as part of this commission.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Interested parties must be able to:

Fulfil the requirements of the contract in full by providing suitably qualified personnel to undertake the work in each Lot (see Specification);

Hold a relevant level of insurance and provide evidence of;

Undertake a site visit by contacting Paul Lewis, Maintenance Manager;

Fully price up the tender as stipulated in the Form of tender as well as indicating which Lot or Lots you are tendering for;

The Quality Assessment must be completed, in full, in order for your submission to be compliant with the requirements of the tender.

5 Other Information

5.1

Additional Information

Your tender submission must be uploaded to the Sell2Wales portal Postbox.

Your submission must be received by the closing time and date of midday, Wednesday 11th November 2020.

You should allow adequate time for the loading of your documents so as to ensure receipt as the postbox will electronically close at the deadline time and no further submissions will be accepted.

All queries in relation to the tender should be conducted via the Q&A function attached to this notice.

Award Criteria

The Contract will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender applying the evaluation criteria as shown in the tender.

The University reserves the right not to accept the lowest or any tender and the right is further reserved to accept the whole or part of any tender.

Please note that due to the current restrictions in place around Covid-19 all site visits must be preceded by the submission of RAMS and approved by USW in advance.
