Abstract
The third phase of procurement for the ATIC UX Lab is focussed on the delivery of an advanced prototyping facility for user experience development and research, integrating virtual data capture with real world tangible products for user centric analysis, product testing and evaluation.
The third phase of procurement will include multiple additive manufacturing technologies to cover a wide range of scenarios including large scale prototyping, functional testing, material testing and highly detailed models for form and fit using a range of materials including bio-compatibility. Integration of these systems with the 3D data capture suite procured in phase 2 will provide a fully integrated facility to translate 3D data form the virtual world to reality.
Key applications are:
- Prototyping
- Testing multiple materials
- Research & Development
- Proof of concept
- Functional parts
- End components
- Functional aids to increase productivity
The key objective of this procurement process is to secure high-quality equipment that is fit for purpose and offers UWTSD value for money. The services must fully integrate the three individual spaces to enable a high degree of flexibility in the ATiC facility.
