Gledrffordd Peat Restoration

Description of the goods or services required
Provision of peatland restoration works for Snowdonia National Park Authority (SNPA) on behalf of the Welsh Peatlands Sustainable Management Scheme (SMS) Project. The works will be carried out at Gledrffordd, an upland blanket bog site situated in the southern Carneddau mountain range between Carnedd Llewelyn and Moel Eilio Mountains. Restoration of the site will be accomplished by re-profiling peat haggs and blocking or slowing water in gullies using peat baffles.

A network of flat bare peat and 1.9km of peat haggs have formed in the area surrounding the draining gullies and along the slopes of the site. While the majority of these are associated with the gully system, many are stand-alone.
