The contracting entity intends to establish a framework arrangement under which it shall appoint an economic operator to enter into a framework agreement for Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Hire services throughout Northern Ireland.
A framework agreement will be awarded for a period of five (5) years with an option, exercisable entirely at the discretion of the contracting entity and subject to the terms of the framework agreement, to extend by a further optional period of up to three (3) years, with a total potential duration of eight (8) years.
The contracting entity estimates that the total spend under the framework agreement, based on current requirements, is anticipated to be up to GBP 1 760 000.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Hire contract will facilitate NIE Networks’ internal work requirements.
The service will include:
1) The provision of Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Hire without an operator;
2) The transportation associated with delivery and collection of each requested Mobile Elevated Work Platform to and from various NIE Networks’ work sites throughout Northern Ireland; and
3) The provision of familiarisation training to NIE Networks’ staff for each Mobile Elevated Work Platform encompassed within the plant handover process at the commencement of each period of hire.
It is intended that the contracting entity will enter a framework agreement with one (1) Economic Operator.
