Abstract

The Phenome Centre Birmingham at the University of Birmingham invites tenders for supply of TWO bench-top, high resolution accurate mass Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry instruments to provide high-throughput and robust untargeted metabolomics of human (and human model) biofluids, cells and tissue samples. The instruments will be used to identify and semi-quantify up to thousands of metabolites per sample using semi-targeted methods.

The equipment will be used in the Phenome Centre Birmingham to conduct collaborative research projects and service work. This research facility utilises of a suite of mass spectrometry instrumentation for targeted and untargeted metabolite analysis and metabolite identification, specifically:

• Three Thermo Scientific UltiMate 3000 UHPLC systems coupled to Q Exactive Focus mass spectrometers

• Two Thermo Scientific UltiMate 3000 UHPLC systems coupled to TSQ Quantiva triple quadrupole mass spectrometers

• Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Elite mass spectrometer

A call off from the APUC Mass Spectrometry and Chromatography Equipment Framework Agreement reference LAB1016AP - Lot 5 Liquid Chromatographs coupled with Mass Spectrometers, awarded following a mini competition.

This is a lease-to-own contract. Delivery and installation is expected by 31/01/2023 with the lease lasting 4 years from date of acceptance.
