PLEASE READ THE DETAIL IN THE TENDER BRIEF
The site requires a detailed restoration plan, including planting specification, and works method statement to be developed alongside a timetable for delivery. Due to the sensitive nature of the surrounding habitats, method statements must include measures relating to how these habitats and associated species shall be protected during works. All ecological considerations including baseline ecology survey shall form part of the commission including the presence of amphibians and mitigation measures such as seasonal timing of the works. Biodiversity data search information can be made available on commission of the successful bid.
The restoration plan shall be agreed in writing by the Local Authority before the ground works commence. The Local Authority shall undertake public consultation with the key users of the site and adjacent residents on the details of the proposal. Minor changes to the plans may be required following the public consultation.
The delivery of the ground works in accordance with plans and method statements will be undertaken under this commission and all costs should be included in your quotation. This can be subcontracted but details of the subcontractors will be agreed with Monmouthshire County Council.
We anticipate that the scope of the project will include minimal elements of earthworks, however re-lining/puddling will be required, with the planting of native vegetation to an appropriate standard and specification. All arisings must be removed from the site for proper disposal including any excess earth, and the existing pond liner.
A secure post and rail fence will need to be erected around the pond for health and safety reasons following initial consultation with key site users. A gate will need to be provided for pedestrian access.
In accordance with grant commitments, works must be completed by the end of this financial year, i.e. by end March 2026. Should any ecological constraints arise that prevent delivery in this time frame, early notification with the Local Authority is required to allow the funder to agree to an alternative time frame.
