TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Audio

A professional, flown, stereo line-array sound system, sized appropriately for the venue and designed using manufacturer-recommended prediction software. The system must be capable of producing 100 dB(A) SPL at the front-of-house (FOH) mixing position, with headroom, delivering clean, undistorted, full-range (20 Hz–20 kHz) audio evenly throughout the entire audience area.

The system must provide consistent frequency response and sound pressure to all seating and standing areas, including balconies and areas directly in front of the stage. This should be achieved using a minimum three- or four-way active system with subwoofers on a separate drive line, ideally configured in cardioid or directional mode to control low-frequency coverage.

Front fills, out-fills, and delay speakers must be employed wherever necessary to ensure complete and even coverage, all on independent drive lines for proper system tuning. The entire system must be correctly rigged, fully functional, and free from hum, distortion, or noise, with appropriate system processing, crossovers, EQ, and limiting to achieve even coverage and a smooth frequency response across the venue.

Hall PA system upgrade to feature line array flown from the main lighting rig in the Hall at a specified point, 3/4 boxes per side. Sub Deployment will be portable and not fixed.

Also, installation of smaller speech and music PA speakers on the hall walls in case Line Array is not available for use, or in the wrong position for a small-scale event that wouldn’t require the larger system.

Entire system to be controlled from a network-based audio controller sited in an equipment rack in the Stage Right dimmer room.

Day to day control of audio system should be from an iPad App based system, setup with a custom interface.

Audio control for large scale events will be from a traditional digital audio console.

Dante networking capability is preferred for audio networking and analogue audio and network utility panels to be installed upstage and FOH in hall. Currently there are only lighting utility panels.

Exemplar Equipment:

6/8x Line Array

2x Twin 18” subwoofers

4x Wall mount speakers
