Abstract

Neath Port Talbot Council seeks to appoint a suitably experienced contractor to deliver a programme of works across two project sites:

Site A: Cwmparc

Located within the uplands above Treorchy, the Cwmparc site comprises both a plateau peatland restoration area and the adjacent cwm valley. Works at this site include peatland restoration interventions together with the installation of grazing infrastructure designed to support long-term habitat management.

Site B: Cefn Morfudd

Located on the upland plateau above Neath, Cefn Morfudd contains areas of degraded peatland requiring restoration through hydrological interventions, together with associated infrastructure works. Parts of the site are subject to additional operational constraints including Scheduled Ancient Monuments and areas requiring specialist UXO supervision.

The contract has been divided into three principal work packages:

• Work Package A: Cwmparc Peatland Restoration

• Work Package B: Cefn Morfudd Peatland Restoration

• Work Package C: Cwmparc Grazing Infrastructure

Bidders must provide a single submission covering all work packages.

The contract will run over two winter working periods:

• November 2026 to 28 February 2027

• 1 October 2027 to 28 February 2028
