Explanation
Due to the urgent requirement to maintain continuous security provision at Whitchurch Hospital, an interim contract was awarded to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, premises and Trust assets. The immediate need for uninterrupted security services did not allow sufficient time to conduct a full competitive procurement process, and the award was therefore made under the negotiated procedure without prior publication on grounds of extreme urgency.
