Abstract
Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales intends to procure a contractor to upgrade the mains water supply at Big Pit National Coal Museum, Blaenafon. The works cover:
• Excavation and/or directional drilling
• Supply and installation of a new mains water service
• Aparallel communications duct
• Associated trenchworks and reinstatement
The site lies within the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape UNESCO World Heritage Site. The works must be delivered sensitively, to protect the historic environment and the visitor experience, the design has been completed to RIBA Stage 4 under the authority’s consultancy framework.
