Abstract
This is a mini competition inviting all contractors from Cadw’s Conservation Works Framework – C049/2021/2022 to participate.
Existing resin-bonded surfaces within the Earls Apartment (Caerphilly Castle) and the Inner Ward need to be reprofiled to provide better (secondary) means of escape for visitors. Cadw have appointed a design team – Purcell Architects and Quantum CLS Quantity Surveyors – to provide detailed drawings and a schedule of works from which competitive quotations can be sought.
Cadw expect the appointed bidder (contractor) to carry out the works within an agreed timeframe (ideally 5-weeks and certainly no later than 31st January 2027) under the terms of a JCT Minor Works Contract. The contracted works will be administered by the design team, on behalf of the client.
